## About the Series
Deepening the Way of Aspirant is a guided reading continuation of the Way of the Aspirant series, designed for students who wish to read and study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and apply the wisdom in their personal lives.
Together, we will read Book I of Light of the Soul — Alice Bailey's commentary on the Sutras — exploring the teachings as a living practice rather than theoretical study. Each session returns to the four foundational limbs covered in the previous series — the five Yamas, five Niyamas, Asana, and Pranayama — deepening our understanding of why we practice them and how they work together to prepare the aspirant for Soul contact.
## Session Format
Each Tuesday evening will follow a consistent, spacious structure:
- Opening Meditation (10 minutes)
- Guided Theme Introduction (10 minutes) — a brief orientation to the evening's reading, highlighting the main ideas
- Guided Reading and Active Discussion (60 minutes) — reading the text together with commentary and open dialogue; always anchored in the four limbs
- Closing Reflection and Meditation — integrating the evening's insights
A short reading guide will be offered each week to support those who wish to prepare in advance. Participants are warmly encouraged to bring their copy of the book.
## Class Dynamic
This is a participatory series built on genuine shared inquiry. Each session opens with a group centering meditation, followed by guided reading and open discussion. Newcomers are welcome to simply listen in. Those ready to engage are invited to contribute questions and insights.
Please note: During the course and the meditations, we may teach about, reference and recite as a group universal prayers for peace and harmony, which may include references to Christ. Recognizing that students may come from any background, individuals may opt out of reciting anything they wish to, for any reason.
