This is for the folks in Scarborough or for those who like to venture out a little. We are going to have a picnic potluck and a walk at this beautiful park and bird sanctuary. There are beautiful views from the bluffs and you can even walk down to the water for a swim if you like.

Located in Scarborough, Ontario, the East Point Park Bird Sanctuary is a vital ecological gem and migratory stopover perched high above Lake Ontario. Spanning part of the eastern Scarborough Bluffs, it provides protected habitats for over 178 bird species and monarch butterflies.
We will start eating at 1 PM SHARP followed by a walk

PLEASE bring your own utensils, plates, bowls, cup, water bottle, and picnic blanket so that you are comfortable.
All are welcome veg-curious, vegetarian, and vegan as long as what you bring to the potluck is vegan!

Key Features & Ecosystem Diverse Habitats: Features open meadows, shrub thickets, emerald forests, and coastal wetlands.

Architecture & Art: Designed in 2016 by PLANT Architect Inc., the park features distinctive, wing-shaped weathering-steel (Corten) pavilions and a bird blind waterjet-cut with local bird species names and flight motifs.
Waterfront Trails: Serene, unpaved and paved pathways connect the interior woodlands to expansive lake views and natural shoreline beaches

PARKING:

The main parking lot for the East Point Park Bird Sanctuary is located at the south end of Beechgrove Drive, right beside the Highland Creek Treatment Plant in Scarborough, Toronto.

Location Details & AccessAddress/Area: Near the intersection of Beechgrove Drive and Copperfield Road, Scarborough, ON.
Directions: Head south on Manse Road or Beechgrove Drive past the train tracks, and follow the road down to the large free public parking area adjacent to the treatment plant.

Trailhead: The trailheads leading into the bird sanctuary and the City of Toronto park meadows/waterfront start right from this parking lot.
TTC:

1. Route 86D Scarborough (Direct to Beechgrove)Route: Take the 86D Scarborough bus east from Kennedy Station.Drop-off Stop: Get off at Beechgrove Drive and Coronation Drive.The Walk: Walk directly south down Beechgrove Drive, cross over the train tracks, and follow it straight to the parking lot. This is the most direct walking path.

2. Route 116 Morningside (Via Coronation)Route: Take the 116 Morningside bus east from Kennedy Station.Drop-off Stop: Get off at Coronation Drive and Beechgrove Drive.The Walk: Walk south down Beechgrove Drive past the train tracks to the parking lot
