Secrets of a Geisha: Beauty Within — Beauty Around Us
We often wait for something outside us to change: for our relationships to become warmer, for more attention to come our way, for something wonderful to happen. Then, we think, we will feel happy, beautiful, and loved.
What if we started with how we feel inside?
“Beauty within me — beauty around me” is one of the seven principles of Aizhan Kadyr’s original Geisha School program. It explores how our sense of self comes through in our voice, our movements, our conversations, and the way we relate to the world around us.
When we carry a lot of tension, even pleasant moments can be hard to enjoy. When we feel freer, notice our desires, and allow ourselves pleasure, we may find different ways to communicate, receive attention, and choose what suits us.
In this workshop, we will explore how to enter this state of beauty and joy, sustain it, and return to it in everyday life.
WHAT WE WILL EXPLORE
This gathering centers on bodily awareness and practice, not just conversation.
Through exercises on yoga mats, we will:
• Notice how we feel and where we hold tension in the body.
• Try ways to relax.
• Explore sensations associated with pleasure and joy.
• Discover what helps us feel beautiful from within, without needing to earn anyone else’s approval.
We will talk about how to stop postponing joy until “everything finally falls into place” and begin giving ourselves attention now.
This is a standalone workshop. You are welcome to join for the first time; no preparation or previous experience is needed.
A GIFT FOR PARTICIPANTS
A complimentary guide with 29 daily femininity practices for every participant. Each day offers a small exercise to continue practicing after the workshop and pay attention to how you feel amid everyday responsibilities.
