Only Child & Sibling Order

There are some common stereotypes for only children in western society, mostly associated with negative connotations.

Similarly, sibling order to some extent determines one’s personality.
Here are some theories about how birth order may influence personality:
Alfred Adler's theory
Adler's theory suggests that birth order influences a child's personality and development. He believed that:

• Firstborns are neurotic, perfectionistic, and conservative
• Secondborns are competitive attention-grabbers
• Youngest children are pampered and lazy
