Chorleywood Trail - Saturday 3 February

Details
Join us as we head for the scenic woods and verdant fields of Chorleywood in Hertfordshire. Famous for the invention of modern British bread-making, this rural environment was found a few years ago to have the best quality of life of anywhere in the country.
At 9 miles, our trail will take us across a medieval common and along the picturesque valley of the River Chess. We will cross the county border into Buckinghamshire hiking through hills and woods along the way. We will then head for the village of Chenies where King Edward Longshanks and his son Edward II, best known today from the epic movie Braveheart, used to stay while hunting in the surrounding forests.
Owing to current circumstances we are prioritising the need for social distancing whilst also providing a chance to take in some sorely needed country walking and (socially distanced) socialising. Therefore we are encouraging everyone to gather at a tube station in Zone 7 instead of a station in central London (and use your Oyster card for travel), until restrictions are relaxed. We will hold a Trailblazer sign.
We will be starting and finishing from Chorleywood Tube Station on the Metropolitan Line. The hike will not include any payment for transport and will be just £5.
