Four Pines, Kohler Mesa, Bear Canyon & Skunk Loop, Boulder

New trail for me, and I hope you, too. 5.6 miles, 1,050 feet of elevation gain, rated moderate.

It gets great reviews on AllTrails for scenery and a good mix of climbing and flat sections. Because it's a bit off the beaten path, it's also not as busy as most of Boulder's trails.

Traction devices are always a good idea this time of year.

Development plans call for the iconic Dark Horse to be demolished and rebuilt at a different location (it will no way no how be the same). Let's go there after while we still can. 2922 Baseline Road
