We’ll make our way through the rugged Ozark National Forest, climbing up a limestone ridge near the Shores Lake area. The trail leads us through a beautiful mix of oak and hickory forest, with a few rocky sections and seasonal creek crossings to keep things interesting. As we work our way along the ridgeline, we’ll stop at several high points where the views open up toward the White Rock Mountain region. It’s a quiet, scenic loop that gives us a great taste of the Ozarks’ backcountry and a chance to enjoy the forest together.
