About us

The purpose of Trails 'n Bells is to appreciate sunlight and fresh air, with fitness as a benefit. Rucking (Hiking with a backpack), hiking with any kind of weight including water, and the reason for the name - kettlebells, are the central activity.
Rucking, and weighted carries are very beneficial for stability, endurance, bone density, and mental endurance. Plain hiking is also welcome, and encouraged for anyone who isn't acclimated to trails.
The intensity of the hikes will alternate between meetups, so that people of varying fitness levels, and new enthusiasts can participate. If a core group of people regularly participates in the higher intensity outings, I'd like to increase the gradually increase the difficulty through progressive overload, longer distances, and more complicated terrain.
Hikes will begin with a stretch and warmup. Hydration is extremely important, I recommend at least 32 ounces of water, especially when it becomes hot outside.
I recommend shoes or boots that you are comfortable with on uneven terrain, preferably waterproof or quick-draining.
The first meetup is set for May 17th! Check it out.

    Flo Ride

Back 40 Trails, 68-78 Castleford Dr, Bella Vista, AR 72714, Bella Vista, AR, US

    Difficulty: Moderate
    Distance: 5.5 miles
    Meeting Spot:
Back 40 Trails, 68-78 Castleford Dr, Bella Vista, AR 72714
    AllTrails Links: Flo Ride

Description: We’ll follow the Flo Ride Trail in the Back 40 system near Bella Vista, moving along a narrow singletrack that winds through the woods with plenty of curves, small berms, and rolling terrain. The route has some short, steeper slopes and a few sections with exposure along the hillside, so we’ll take our time and watch our footing. There are several road crossings where we’ll pause and check for traffic. This trail is popular with mountain bikers and designed for speed and flow, so we’ll stay alert, step aside when needed, and treat it as a quieter, more careful hike through a very active bike area.
