This Paid Milky Way workshop will focus on the following:
*How to plan your shoot through the use of apps
*Camera settings
*Focusing on the stars
I will provide a printed word document with all the information that will be covered during the workshop that you can take home with you.
The workshop is meant for beginners to intermediate but feel free to join even if you are not a beginner.
There is a shopping plaza on the left hand side of Palm Canyon Drive right before you come to Christmas Circle. We will meet at the market. I believe it’s called Center Market. There’s a public restroom around the back.
The shooting location will be determined by attendees, but I suggest one of the sculptures (if not busy) or Fonts point. A 4x4 is required for Fonts Point.
I set the event time at 6:00 to allow time to drive to a shooting location, shoot sunset if we choose, and get set up before it gets dark.
Please have a basic understanding of how to use your camera including how to change the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture in manual or bulb mode. I can try to help, but I am not familiar with ALL cameras. I shoot Canon, specifically 5D Mark IV. Most other brands and cameras will be foreign to me.
I am offering this workshop at a ridiculously low, super discounted rate of $75 for meetup members only.
If enough people are interested, I will look into adding a second date option.
Event will be cancelled if it's too cloudy. If this happens, I will provide a full refund and reschedule the workshop on another date.
Feel free to check out my website or my Instagram if you want to see some of my photos. One of my milky way photos won 4th place in the SD Fair Photo Competition in 2022.
