Help water stressed trees on Skyline Blvd in Oakland

Please help us water trees on Skyline Blvd! In January 2024 Trees for Oakland along side Rotary Club and neighborhood volunteers with the assistance from Oakland Tree Services planted approximately 150 young oak trees to replace pine trees that either died or have been deemed to be near end of life, which City of Oakland have begun cutting down.
Despite efforts from nearby neighbors to keep them watered, some have perished. The others need our help.
This will be the third year in a row we've conducted this event. So far, we have been successful in preserving these young trees without suffering any accidents or damage. Let's keep the streak going!
For this event, we will use a pickup truck (possibly 2 pickups) to gravity-deliver water into buckets, and carry water the final 10-25 yards by hand. It will be slow going, but valuable work. We could use 10-15 sturdy volunteers to help with this effort. Thank you for your donation of time and energy!
Where to meet:
Oakland fire station #21 at the corner of Skyline and Parkridge Dr. We plan to start prompty at 10 AM. We will move in a caravan along Skyline, so if you arrive late, just look for the truck with water tank perched in the bed, and park somewhere nearby. We will finish back at the Fire Station.
What to wear:
Loose, comfortable, rugged clothing. WEAR HI VISIBILITY SHIRTS AND JACKETS. No shorts (you might otherwise get scratches and burrs.) STURDY SHOES OR BOOTS. You will be walking on uneven terrain and dirt, and there is a slope. Wear a hat and sunscreen if it is sunny.
What to bring:
Water for yourself. A hat. Fingerless gloves, if you have any.
Note regarding RSVPs:
We limited RSVP to 20 persons (2 leads plus 18 volunteers). If the list gets full, just add yourself to the waitlist. We will be in touch or else decide to add you in the days leading up to the event.
