Yurts in the Snow | Christmas with Nomads, Kyrgyzstan

Experience a real winter wonderland as we follow the trail to warm cozy yurts under brisk starry sky as we roam the snow-covered hills and valleys on horseback and sleigh.

We will put on our mittens and snowshoes before starting our cross-country sleigh-ride through the beautiful mountains and valleys where the nomads roam. Hear the crunch of hooves on fresh fallen snow and the jingle of reigns from our winter sleigh and steam from horses’ nostrils will make for ideal holiday picture! We explore this idyllic winter-scape from our yurts in the snow and finish with holiday feast around hot stove and warm blankets before drifting off to dreams of white winter.

Day 0 / Thursday
Departure. Meeting at DXB T3 20.30 hrs for a flight at 22.40.

Day 1 / Friday
Arrival early in the morning at Manas Airport, immigration clearance and breakfast. Drive to Chong-Kemin valley (2-3 hours) and spend all day in nomadic village in the rhythm of rural life.

Horse riding to Chong-Kemin panorama across snowy pastures (jailoos). Festive dinner, surprise Santa and night in the yurt.

Day 2 / Saturday
Nomad breakfast and start horse sleigh party. Expect white mountains, forest, campfire and barbecue. Later on we will follow magnificent Tchu Valley on the way back to Bishkek. Before departure, we will pass by market for local shopping. Dinner in restaurant and night in a hotel.

Day 3 / Sunday
Early morning transfer to the airport and return flight home. Arrival 08.20 AM.

Level of difficulty: easy to moderate (depending on your fitness level)

Activities: experiencing real winter of Central Asia, horse riding, sleighing, sightseeing and few surprises!!

Duration: Weekend, fly out on Thursday 22.40, back home 08.40 AM on Sunday.

Accommodation & meals: included - homestay in yurt and hotel, local festive foods.

Requirement: winter clothing, daypack, pullover or fleece jacket, windbreaker, scarf / muffler, winter shoes, gloves, sleeping bag, toiletry & towel, wipes, power bank, sunglasses, warm cap.

Approx. cost: 3300 aed.
