#505 Outdoor Portraiture with Fill Flash and Reflectors

This one-day workshop starts with a two-hour classroom session at the Farmington Hills Campus followed by lunch and concludes with a four-hour shooting experience at nearby Greenmeade Historic Park in Livonia. Students will photograph a model out-of-doors under a variety of challenging lighting conditions. Instruction includes the use of fill flash and Scrim Jims to minimize shadows caused by hard, direct sunlight or how to use a diffuser to soften light. Learn to use reflectors to provide a softer directional light when your subject is in shade. Learn the difference between warm and cool reflectors and how they affect your color balance. Students will meet at the MPW Farmington Hills campus for a morning classroom session and depart from there to photograph a model all afternoon.

Students are expected to bring: camera with ample media cards, wide angle and telephoto lenses, tripod, shoe mount flash and a lens hood for each lens. Just like you go to a restaurant, it is common and appropriate to give your waitress/waiter a tip or gratuity, such is the case here. You are encouraged to provide a gratuity to your model at the end of a successful shoot.
