| “Our Movement Starts Here” is an 82-minute feature length documentary chronicling the birth of the environmental justice movement in 1982 which was sparked by the fight of a rural, majority-Black community in Warren County, North Carolina, against a toxic PCB landfill.
| The documentary combines contemporary interviews with original protesters and newer activists to highlight how the movement continues to inspire efforts against environmental inequities, climate injustices and systemic marginalization that disproportionately affect communities of color. Younger activists are learning from their elders about the environmental movements, and how they are locally rooted yet internationally influential. |
