Hello fellow Greensboro veggies,
As I was perusing online at the Mercy for Animals website
, I noticed that they had an office in Asheville, NC. Surprised, I decided to email the lady in charge just to say hi and let her know that our veggie community has expanded and grown over here in Greensboro. She was very kind and excited that we were here. In fact, she was so kind as to send me a box of literature for our group:
- Roughly 20 copies of their monthly magazine ( with an expose on the Conklin Dairy Farm investigation)
- About 90 pamphlets (three different kinds ? Another Inconvenient Truth; Why Eat One and Love the Other; and Vegetarian Eating )
- Roughly 20 Vegetarian Starter Kits
If anyone would like to take these off my hands and use them for leafleting or simply to give to friends and family members, I will have them at the next meetup we?re having at Boba House on June 19, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. If anyone would like to claim them sooner, just reply to this email (it will only go to me) and let me know how you would like to pick them up. If anyone from the group would like to organize a leafleting event with these materials, please let me know and I can kindly oblige.
Also, the Asheville Mercy for Animals office often hosts events, sets up booths, and does other activist work in the local area. I know many of us go to Asheville regularly or would like to if they had a reason. Feel free to head over to their website and bookmark the Asheville, NC event calendar and see what they have over there: http://www.mercyforanimals.org/events.aspx?state=NC
I hope everyone is having a lovely week, full of happiness and vegetables!
