Big engines, ridiculous fair food, thrilling rides, and even better company!
We're taking on the NC State Fair, and we're kicking things off with something a little different: a live tractor pull! 🚜💨
Never been to a tractor pull? Neither have some of us! Whether you're a lifelong motorsports fan, just curious about the spectacle, or simply looking for some fun people to explore the fair with, you're absolutely welcome here.
We'll start at the grandstands for an afternoon of roaring engines, horsepower, and friendly company. Afterward, the real adventure begins!
We'll break into smaller groups to explore everything the fair has to offer: deep-fried creations, carnival rides, games, exhibits, and whatever else catches our attention. Some of us may even stick around for the evening festivities and fireworks! 🎆
Come for the tractors, come for the food, or just come because experiencing the fair with new friends sounds better than going alone.
### 📍 When & Where
- 12:00 PM: Recommended arrival at the fairgrounds. Allow plenty of time for parking, security, and walking.
- 12:30 PM: Enter through the grandstand admission and meet your host, Mark, inside (check the WhatsApp group for pictures and updates)
- 1:00 PM: Tractor pull begins at the NC Education Lottery Rand Grandstand. The show is expected to last approximately one hour.
- Around 2:00 PM onward: Explore the fair together! We'll split into smaller groups based on interests and see where the afternoon takes us.
TWO TICKETS REQUIRED
You'll need two separate tickets to attend the tractor pull:
- NC State Fair Admission: $10 in advance through October 15, or $13 during the fair, plus applicable online fees.
- Tractor Pull Ticket: $10 before applicable online fees (approximately $11 online).

HOW WE'LL FIND EACH OTHER
We'll meet inside the grandstands after ticket entry, rather than outside the entrance. Your host will arrive early, find a seating area, and post a photo of the location in our event WhatsApp chat. Seating is first-come, first-served, and we can't reserve seats for everyone, so please arrive promptly. No worries if you can't sit directly with us — we'll have plenty of time to connect afterward!

Only interested in exploring the fair afterward? You're welcome, too! Join our event WhatsApp chat to coordinate a meetup after the tractor pull. You won't need a tractor pull ticket, just regular fair admission.

PARKING & HELPFUL LINKS
Parking and walking can take longer than expected. We strongly encourage carpooling, arriving early, and wearing comfortable shoes.
🔊 EARPLUGS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! Tractor pulls are extremely loud, and the fair itself can be crowded and overstimulating. Bring hearing protection, take breaks whenever you need them, and participate at whatever pace works for you.
COME AS YOU ARE
You don't need to know anything about tractors, love country music, enjoy rides, or fit any particular mold to join us. This is Triangle Third Place, and we're here to share new experiences, discover what makes our area special, and build genuine friendships along the way.
Coming solo? So are plenty of us. Stay for an hour or make a whole day of it.
