Talk 1 - DevOps - Philosophy vs Practice
Abstract - Many of our conversations on DevOps revolve around tools and practices - but very few address where the two meet.
We can talk about monitoring, analytics, alerting, on-call and the philosophies surrounding them, but how do we bring the two worlds together?
This talk will focus on successful setups and all the parts and tools that go into it. How do we make sure we have everything we need for our organization. We’ll also discuss how to get the buy-in needed from your team to make it work.
Speaker - PJ Hagerty, crate.io
Developer, writer, speaker, musician, and Community Advocate, PJ is the founder of DevRelate.io and head of Developer Advocacy for Crate.io. He is known to travel the world speaking about programming and the way people think and interact. He is also known for wearing hats.

Talk 2 - Deploying MySQL on Kubernetes & Openshift
Abstract - In this hands on talk, Alexander Rubin from Percona will talk about how to deploy MySQL on Kubernetes & Openshift. His use case will be deploying Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) together with MySQL Proxy and implementing read/write split.
If you never used Kubernetes / Openshift or never used PXC / MySQL Proxy - Alexander will do a quick introduction to both. He will also do a demo and provide an EC2 virtual machine for people interested in deploying PXC + ProxySQL yourself.
