From the publisher - "Factorio is a video game about building and creating automated factories to produce items of increasing complexity."

In this talk, you'll see how early on in a game of Factorio, it's incredibly easy to understand the system and identify throughput, utilization and errors, but as the factories increase in complexity and their interconnections develop and increase, being able to visualize both the macro and micro view becomes incredibly difficult - we'll scrape metrics from the game using Prometheus and build visualizations in Grafana that will change as the type of information that is important to us changes as well.

Finally, we'll wrap up by showing how this parallels to micro services and how the same strategies used with Factorio apply and how you can scale your instrumentation and monitoring as your micro services platform grows.
