Playtest Night - Designing Immersive Experiences!

Come out and playtest some games from local independent developers, or bring your project and show it to our open & supportive community! This event will feature games made from our community during the 48 hours of Global Game Jam 2024!
This month, we'll have special guest speaker, ERNESTO ESCOBAR, founder of FanaticusXR and the director of Duke's Game Design, Development and Innovation Program. During his talk, Ernesto will discuss immersive VR experiences and how to create multiple entry points, making experiences appealing and accessible to a wider range of people.
Schedule:
5:00pm - Game setup
5:30pm - Doors open for playtesting
7:00pm - Speaker begins
9:00pm - Event ends
What you can expect at the event:
- Check out local indie videogames, TTRPGs, Board Games, and experimental projects
- Bring your prototypes, works-in-progress, weird experiments, or your back catalog releases (please include content warnings if necessary)
- There will be some local multiplayer games available to hang out and play as well.
Food
Most folks bring snacks and seltzers to share. You're also welcome to BYO dinner and eat at the event. The Boxyard food hall across the street is a good option for takeaway food, or visit one of the many nearby restaurants in the RTP area.
