TIAC's "Serious" Game Jam

MORE PASSION. MORE ENERGY. MORE GAME JAMS!

We are thrilled to announce a partnership for the upcoming Serious Play Conference. Join us in bringing the Triangle's impressive indie game dev scene to this exciting conference.

This game jam is centered around energy. The RTP area is known for its innovation, education, and industry.

Whether you are a programmer, artist, audio engineer, game designer, or producer, you are welcome to create. We will be building games over a short, high-energy period to be showcased at the convention.

OUR OFFICE at Frontier RTP

• Address: 800 Park Offices Dr, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
• Arrive at the front door of the 800 building. You will see a big blue "800" sculpture and a flagpole/carpool loop.
• Outside the glass sliding doors is a small black doorbell ringer.
• Ring the doorbell, and a volunteer will come get you in ~1-2 minutes
• We will be utilizing the Dive Room for this event!

DAYS OF THE JAM

Pre-Kickoff Social: Thursday, July 23rd, 5:00 pm. Join us for a casual hangout to meet potential teammates before the jam starts. Especially suggested for newcomers!

Official Kickoff: Friday, July 24th, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Meet fellow jammers and potentially get on a team after sharing ideas, and hearing what others are hoping to accomplish. If you can only make it to one in-person event, this one would be best.

• Office hours (Jam Day 1): Saturday, July 25th, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
• Office hours (Jam Day 2): Sunday, July 26th, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Presentations: Sunday, July 26th, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
• Join virtually on the dedicated discord channel

THE SHOWCASE @ SERIOUS PLAY - DUKE UNIVERSITY:
The Serious Play Conference takes place at Duke University from August 5th - 7th. By participating in the game jam, you will get to meet like minded individuals interested in making games & you get to showcase your Game Jam games creations at the TIAC table for free! (You would normally need to purchase a table for $500) Be part of a larger community of exhibitors and get exposure as a developer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

• We expect all participating to abide by our code of conduct.
• Utilizing our discord server is the best option for communication, especially if you already use the service. We have an introductions channel as well as a channel dedicated to the serious play game jam. It's a great place to meet people and get support. It is possible to fully participate virtually (although we do recommend the more dynamic in-person experience if you can make it).
• Submissions: We will provide a submission form through itch.io for developers to submit their projects. This helps our organizers discern which projects are a good fit for the atmosphere of the convention.
• One of our jam organizers is bilingual in English/Spanish.
