Come Learn Qi Gong- I will host/post various events around the Triangle that are happening in these arts. Find a teacher that suits your needs!
This Qi Gong (Chi Kung) class is for practitioners of all levels. If you are interested in learning the Art of Self-healing, Qi Gong is working with energy to open up all the energy pathways through gentle and relaxing movements. Feedback from attendees is along the lines of "very energizing while calming at the same time! An awesome and balanced practice"
Qi gong is a wide and diverse world. There are forms focusing on all manners of healing, opening, stretching, purging, and nourishing. I highly recommend sampling the many practitioners we host to experience the variety of practices available in these arts!

The internal opening of energy and circulation of vital energy through the channels of qigong combined with breathwork help cultivate an inner landscape that is healthy and pliable. A healthy body and mind that comes through this moving meditation is a great foundation to take into the Taiji portion of the class.
Taiji is a moving form practice that has been well studied now in the West and proven to reduce stress, improve balance, circulation/respiration, intellectual capacity, strength and mobility. In this way Taiji training has benefits beyond the mere physical
- Class Structure : Tuesday/Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm, Saturday 10am -11am (with (9:00am Zen Meditation available)
- Meditation
- Warm-Up and Mobility
- Qigong (Currently working on the 18 Immortals from the Magic Tortoise School)
- Group Yang 24 Form
- Individual practice with option for push hands practice
Note: Students of all levels participate in the same classes. Most of the class is practiced as a group with the last portion of the class reserved for individual practice based on experience.
About the School and Teacher:
Maestra Imari is the founder and headmistress of East Cloud Kungfu - a haven for Chinese Martial and Internal Arts She has an eclectic history of training in the martial arts,including Shaolin Style Kungfu, Contemporary Wushu, various styles of Taiji and Qigong, as well as in combative sports such as Sanda, Muay Thai, and Sumo wrestling. She has a disciplined, no-nonsense approach to teaching with an emphasis on proper fundamentals and correct form.The School itself focuses on creating a positive environment where people can safely discover themselves to the very depths of their being. Beyond learning martial technique, you will learn how to move, how the moves work, and how each motion connects to the various, cooperating parts of your body, as well as how your mind plays a role in the process. Learning how to control the mind is key to these arts. You will discover your strengths, as well as your weaknesses and how to endure through the most difficult challenges, as well as how to deal with defeat at times and how to continue forward and keep progressing towards your goals. You are learning patience with yourself in a process that takes years of consistent practice just to develop a foundation and a lifetime to master. You are learning how to take care of yourself, both in mind and body, and how to create peace and balance in your life. By entering into the East Cloud Family, you are learning the virtues and developing the spirit of the warriors of a rich, beautiful, and ancient culture.
