New Meetup: New Book Club Meetup - Omnivore's Dilemma

Announcing a new Meetup for Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup of Raleigh, Durham & Chapel Hill!

What: New Book Club Meetup - Omnivore's Dilemma

When: November 16,[masked]:00 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Meetup Description: So it's time for our first veg-related book club meetup! I've given a lot of thought to how to work this and taken feedback from many group members. I will welcome ongoing feedback from those interested in attending the book clubs as we work out this process.

There is a possibility we can split into two groups based on interest, but often there is a difference in numbers between those who express interest and those who can/do attend. I don't mean this as a criticism, that's just how we are. So in order to simplify, our initial book meeting will occur as one group of up to 12 (if it is full and you'd still like to attend, please indicate this in your No RSVP, I'll consider increasing size or setting up a second meetup). We'll first meet in Durham, not too far from Northgate. Specific address will later be sent to those signed up.

Let's keep with our simplify theme and not do a full on potluck this time. It would be great if people bring (vegan) snack foods or drinks to share - and even better if you post what you're bringing in your RSVP. : ) I'm keeping this event free assuming I won't have to provide all the drinks/snacks.

My goal is to have a casual, supportive group where we can get different perspectives on the same book as well as interact socially. Differences of opinions will be welcome, but we must all express ourselves respectfully. I'd also like to avoid an environment where someone feels they can't come if they don't quite finish the book. But of course we should all make a good faith effort to finish it! : )

I'm really looking forward to this book and this meetup! As always, please feel free to email me if you have questions or comments!
