🎉 About the event

Join us for TJUG: Last Commit Before Vacation - our final meetup before the summer holidays!
Expect great talks, inspiring discussions, and an opportunity to connect with the local Java community before everyone switches to vacation mode.

We've prepared technical talks covering different aspects of the Java ecosystem, followed by networking and community discussions.

👉 This time, the presentations will be held in Polish. The slides and code examples will be in Java, making the content accessible to both Polish-speaking attendees and international guests familiar with Java.

📚 Agenda
Opening & Welcome
A short introduction and a few words about what’s next for the TJUG in 2026.

Talk 1 – Mikalai Sitsko
"Java application & AWS. Be efficient in development."

Developing directly on real AWS infrastructure comes with downsides, such as API call charges, the need to provision and share remote resources, and network dependencies. This presentation introduces a way to mitigate these problems by showing how developers can simulate AWS services locally to save both money and time.

Talk 2 - Mikołaj Witkowski
"Let’s go to the beach. Practical guide for aspiring architects"

We can avoid many errors and issues in our software systems if we have a better overview, a more advanced technical background, and of course, strong knowledge of architecture and best practices. At the same time, we all want to complete our duties faster and more easily and ultimately go to that desired beach. I would like to invite you to my presentation, where I will describe an architect’s responsibilities with a practical particular example.

🍕 Break + Pizza
Time to recharge, network and grab some pizza – provided on site.

Talk 3 – Michał Jonko
Serial(izacja) i niekończąca się opowieść…

Konkurs - z nagrodami

👤 Speakers

Mikalai Sitsko
I am Mikalai Sitsko, a Gdańsk-based software developer at Hapag-Lloyd. I have approximately 20 years of experience in the IT domain and application development, with almost 10 years focused on Java development. My professional background spans the entire software development lifecycle. In recent years, I have mostly focused on Quarkus, Databases, Stream Platforms, Cloud, and AI topics.

Mikołaj Witkowski
Merging my technical and soft skills has allowed me to become a cutting‑edge developer. I am a full of passion person who is always ready for new challenges! 🫡 Java and AWS are technologies that I am the most interested in. During my career I gained experience from automotive and public, and banking sectors. Moreover, I achieved the AWS Associate Certificate and the National Security Authority, which allows to work on confidential and secret projects 🤫 I have passion in my roots! I like working with people, but I am also confident to work on my own. My hobbies are basketball, Friends and The Office series and travelling with my family 🤗 I strongly believe that by combining my passion and commitment, I can take a project to the next level. 🫡

Pasjonat optymalizacji, walki z wydajnością, automatyzacji, identyfikacji procesów i systemów decyzyjnych.
