Come join the Tropical Trekker Chapter of the Florida Trail Association for a tour of the Growing Hope Farm. The Growing Hope Farm in Palm City is an innovative House of Hope program that uses hydroponic farming to grow fresh fruit and vegetables which are made available to low-income residents.
We will meet in the parking lot of the Palm City Farms Produce Market, 3706 SW Citrus Blvd. Palm City, 34990, at 8:30 to beat the heat. After the tour, we can visit the vegetable market and grab a nutritious snack!
Pinder’s Nursery is just up the road if you’d like to visit their butterfly garden after the House of Hope Farm!
Tropical Trekkers will meet behind first base to enjoy a baseball game featuring the St. Lucie Mets vs. the Palm Beach Cardinals. It's Dollar Night! Enjoy $1 Bud and Bud Light (8 oz. cans), $1 soda, $1 popcorn and $2 hot dogs.
Tropical Trekkers gives out painted rocks whenever we set up our display, so we need to replenish our supply. We'll meet in one of the open air pavilions and paint until we get hungry. You needn't be an artist. Simple designs are some of the best.
Bring a little something to set on the buffet table and join us for a relaxing get together doing something productive and appreciated.
Looking forward to meeting new people. I will bring plates, forks, paper towels and tablecloths. You should bring a snack to share and whatever you'd like to drink. Take the first right off the traffic circle. We'll be at the pavilion with the checkered tablecloths.
