What we’re about
We are a group of friendly people who just like to enjoy a good meal with others doing the same. We discover hidden gems but still enjoy going back to some that members have loved. We've been dining out all over the Detroit metro area for more than 20 years. Its a big dinner table and all are welcome. Discover great little restaurants while meeting new people. We meet, we eat, we sip, we savor and enjoy good conversation. We discover new faces and places, we discover old gems. We gather and meet all over SE Michigan.
One thing we don't allow is all that high school drama that other groups seem to have problems at time. Our organizers take their own time to set up all the meals and remind the attendees about those meals. We take other members complaints seriously. So don't worry if you seen problems in other groups, we are drama free by the rules the owner of the group will enforce for the good of all in the group.
"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." --Virginia Woolf
Please note: A clear picture of you must be on your profile in order to join this group. Our anticipated age range is 25 to 80.

See all- Dinner at the Sushi House in Farmington22030 Farmington Rd, Farmington, MI
Since our group has been to Ken Ken Sushi last, it is time to give the Sushi House equal time. Some say it is the matter of opinion which is best and I am lucky to live near both. I am still trying to decide. I have a large table for us. There are plenty of parking in the lot and it is easy to get to. Good way to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Menu has been updated and enlarged since the last time we were there. Here is the link Menu
As normal, please get on the going list ONLY IF YOU WANT TO EAT THERE and not just a placeholder on your calendar just in case nothing better comes along. Dropping out the week before does count against your total of no shows or late drops. Even if you switch yourself to not going at the last minute, we can still list you as a NO SHOW after the meal. We need to be fair to other members, we have over 600, the staff and owners of the restaurant, and all of organizers of meet up groups that are now having a hard time scheduling events because of no shows. I cut off RSVP 24 hrs before the meal. You will be asked to confirm the week before and if you don’t, you will be moved to not going. If you don't, you will be moved to not going.
If you are on the waiting list don’t give up if you really want to go. The wait list has disappeared lately to give up openings a few days before for late sign ups. I also try to make a way to add to the reservation if I can. I have found that when I have more than 8, I am lucky to get 8 people even with a longer wait list. I can’t use our Meet Up name since on shows at those meals have made the restaurants not to give Meet Up groups reservations.
- Lunch at Eagle Tavern in Greenfield VillageGreenfield Village, Dearborn, MI
From the tavern keeper’s welcome to the last bite of our house-baked desserts, Eagle Tavern feels as inviting today as it must have felt in 1800-era Michigan. Take in the conviviality with a specialty cocktail or a temperance beverage or, linger over a seasonally-inspired meal, curated to be faithful to original Eagle Tavern menus and historic specialties. We cook what Michigan grows, with recipes handed down from the cooks that made their home here 175 years ago. The food is not what you can find just anywhere. While the menu changes each season and the spring menu is not up yet so I got a sample of last fall menu to give you an idea if you have never eaten there. Fall Menu sample
You do have to have a ticket to the village, but I can get 2 people in with my membership and have passes for another 4. If you have your own membership, let me know so I will not count you among the number I can get in. This is a holiday weekend, so if you are not going away and want to enjoy the village you are welcome to walk around after our meal.
I will be posting cross posting this with a brunch group I do set up meals once and while, but their number will be separate from this. A waiting list might pop up and join that so I know how to adjust the numbers.
