About us
New to Canada or Toronto? You're in the right place. 🇨🇦
Try Toronto is a Toronto-based newcomers community with 4,000+ members, built by newcomers, for newcomers. We bring together immigrants, refugees, and international residents for social events, skill-building workshops, and genuine human connection — because settling in a new country is easier when you don't do it alone.
What we do:
- 100+ events per year — mixers, cultural nights, professional workshops, outdoor hangouts
- A welcoming, multilingual community (English, Russian, Ukrainian, and more)
- A space to ask questions, find friends, and build your life in Canada
Who joins us:
Recent arrivals and long-time residents — anyone who wants to feel less like a stranger and more like they belong.
Come as you are. Leave with community.

🎃 Guide Alex: Paranormal Toronto
Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queens Park, Toronto, ON M5S 2C6, Canada, Toronto, ON, CAThis Friday, Alex will take us to places hiding stories you won’t find in a typical Toronto guidebook: murders, old court sentences, mysterious deaths, urban legends, and events that still have no clear explanation.
👻 What to expect on the walk:
• dark stories from Toronto’s past
• places connected to crimes and tragedies
• urban legends and ghost stories
• details you could easily walk past during the day without ever noticing
A perfect pre-Halloween experience: Downtown Toronto after dark, a bit of history, a bit of mystery, and plenty of chills.
If you love discovering the darker side of the city, join us. 🎃⚠️ This is a walking tour. Some stories may be quite intense, so we don’t recommend it for young children or anyone who is especially sensitive to dark or disturbing stories.
📍 Meeting point: Downtown Toronto. The exact meeting location will be available in the instructions immediately after registration.
🎤 Your Guide: Alex, one of Toronto’s top-rated guides. With him, every walk turns into an adventure. He knows how to tell a story so well that you forget about everyday worries, and even your phone.
Contact number for the host, exact meeting spot, and other details will be shared with you right after registration, in the comments of this event.
If you have any questions — feel free to message us!
