GardenFest of Lights
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 1800 Lakeside Ave, Henrico, VA, USGardenFest is a spectacular event at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.
Part of the magic of winter nights is how a twinkle of light can transform the darkness. This year, Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights celebrates their wonder with the theme: The Elements As audiences take in millions of lights across the Garden they will explore areas with displays inspired by fire, earth, air, and water, as well as a special “fifth” element, love. Love is the invisible energy that binds us together. Just as the four elements sustain us, love fuels creativity, compassion, and connection. In this year’s exhibit, the elements become our storytellers, and visitors are invited to reflect on how these forces surround us daily, and how together they create harmony, resilience, and wonder.
Millions of lights line garden paths and twinkle in trees under the night sky. Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights is a walk-through experience designed so you and your friends can relax, have fun and make special memories in a magical outdoor setting.
Advance tickets are REQUIRED and are available online only (no walk-ups). Tickets are limited and have timed arrivals. Popular times sell out quickly.
Tickets must be purchased on the Lewis Ginter website. To purchase your ticket, use this link. Be sure to select the correct time: December 10th at 7PM. General admission is $22.

Book Club at Brambly Park
Brambley Park, 1708 Belleville Street Richmond, VA 23230, Richmond, VA, USWe welcome you to join us for our monthly book club get-togethers. We will select one book each month and we ask that you read the book so we can discuss it. Be prepared for spoilers! Since we cancelled last month, we’ll be discussing “Water Moon” by Samantha Sotto Yambao in December. This book may be found as physical, digital, or audio copies at local libraries. You don't have to bring a copy of the book to our meeting.
“On a backstreet in Tokyo lies a pawnshop, but not everyone can find it. Most will see a cozy ramen restaurant. And only the chosen ones—those who are lost—will find a place to pawn their life choices and deepest regrets.
Hana Ishikawa wakes on her first morning as the pawnshop’s new owner to find it ransacked, the shop’s most precious acquisition stolen, and her father missing. And then into the shop stumbles a charming stranger, quite unlike its other customers, for he offers help instead of seeking it.
Together, they must journey through a mystical world to find Hana’s father and the stolen choice—by way of rain puddles, rides on paper cranes, the bridge between midnight and morning, and a night market in the clouds. But as they get closer to the truth, Hana must reveal a secret of her own—and risk making a choice that she will never be able to take back.”
We will choose the next month’s book at our meeting so come prepared to pitch your book of choice!
