“The Master” (2012) is a psychological drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams, about a volatile WWII veteran who finds a new sense of purpose with a charismatic cult leader and his burgeoning religious movement in post-war America.
We’ll gather to talk about the film’s themes, visuals, and big ideas, and choose next month’s movie at the end of our meeting—so come prepared with your own film suggestions!
🎬 “The Master” is available to stream on Amazon Prime, or rent on major platforms (including Fandango and YouTube). You don’t need to bring anything but your thoughts, questions, and excitement.
