About us
Tucson Community Meditation Center (TCMC) is committed to providing a community that nurtures and supports the teaching and continuing practice of meditation and mindfulness in daily life. TCMC provides opportunities for anyone to learn and practice meditation from both local and visiting teachers. We also provide library resources, social events, as well as both residential and non-residential meditation retreats.
We are a non-sectarian organization and anyone with an interest in meditation is welcome. Our weekly classes and monthly retreats typically consist of a guided meditation followed by a talk on a meditation related topic. There is also an opportunity to ask questions.
We have been offering meditation related events in the Tucson community since the 1980's. We are relatively new to Meetup, so we don't always get a large number of RSVP's, however we also get attendees from our website and newsletter.
Most of our events are now meeting in person, but we still have some online events as well.
This group is suitable for both new and experienced meditators.

Managing Anxiety - Weekend Workshop with Kaishin
Tucson Community Meditation Center, 1147 N Howard Blvd, Tucson, AZ, USAnxiety comes in many flavors. For some folks it is a general sense of foreboding about life and the unknown. Others experience agitation or irritation at non-optimal circumstance in their own lives or the world at large. Still others are continually lashed by the tyranny of the "to-do" list or self-judging. There may not even seem to be a reason for the anxiety. Then you can be anxious about being anxious for no reason.
Let's spend the weekend together, exploring some guided meditation techniques designed to help manage anxiety so that it causes less suffering and presents less of an obstacle to happiness and fulfillment in life. Most of our practice will be in stillness, but we will have some mindful movement practice and Q&A sessions as well.
