Craft & Chat
Tucson Creative Reuse, 419 North 4th Avenue, Tucson, AZ, USThis month we're taking Craft & Chat out of the coffee shop and into Tucson Creative Reuse, a wonderful new creative reuse shop in the heart of Tucson's historic Fourth Avenue district. Fourth Avenue has always been a place where artists, makers, musicians, and creative spirits come together, and this feels like the perfect place to gather with fellow crafters.
Bring a portable creative project to work on, meet other local makers, and take some time to explore the shop's ever-changing collection of affordable reclaimed art and craft supplies. Whether you enjoy sewing, painting, beading, drawing, paper crafts, upcycling, or just making things with your hands, you'll be in good company.
Our host, Misa, is passionate about building Tucson's creative community, and we're excited to help introduce more makers to this fantastic new local resource.
Parking: There are lots of metered spaces along Fourth Avenue, plus nearby city garages and surface lots if the street spots are full. However, street parking is metered ($1.50/hour), so please come prepared to pay for parking.
Although this event is free to attend, it is not free to arrange or host. Please plan to support our hosting partner, Tucson Creative Reuse, by making a purchase or donating some of your unwanted crafting supplies. And consider dropping a dollar or two into the "Meetup Fund" tip jar. All money will go toward paying the required Meetup annual fees.

Maker Road Trip to Phoenix!
Beyond Bread, 3026 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ, USWho's up for a maker adventure?
Join us for a day trip to Phoenix to explore some of the incredible fabric stores, creative reuse centers, and maker-friendly destinations that we don't have here in Tucson.
Our one guaranteed stop will be SAS Fabrics, a legendary treasure hunt for fabric, notions, upholstery supplies, and all sorts of creative inspiration.Depending on the group's interests (and how much time we spend shopping!), we may also visit places like H&R Fabrics, The Art Resource Center, or take a stroll through Grand Avenue or the Melrose District to explore local art, vintage shops, and creative businesses. We'll decide together as the day unfolds.
We'll meet at Beyond Bread (Campbell & Blacklidge) and park in the back of the parking lot. We'll leave promptly at 8:00 AM so we can arrive when the shops open around 10:00 AM, and we expect to be back in Tucson by approximately 6:00 PM.
We'll carpool to Phoenix, so we're looking for a few volunteers who are willing to drive. If you're riding with someone else, please plan to chip in a few dollars to help cover gas.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, a reusable water bottle, a little spending money (if you find a treasure you can't leave behind!), and your sense of creative curiosity.
Whether you're a sewist, painter, paper crafter, upcycler, mixed-media artist, or simply love discovering new creative resources, we'd love to have you join us!
