What we’re about

I'm starting this group to find others in and around Tucson to come together to find other like-minded folks who want to live Whole Food Plant Based lifestyles, get together and become a community to share WFPB lifestyle challenges, obstacles and of course recipes using foods that are unprocessed and completely plant-based, with very limited added salt, oils and sugar. To come together for a social gatherings and hopefully a potluck to share our food along with our stories about how we came to be WFPB; what our struggles might be and how we can encourage and support each other on this healthy eating path that goes against "the norm." Community is integral to success in sustaining any lasting changes to our life, but is crucial when changing such a personal thing as eating habits.

I don't want to rely on the Healthcare system (aka the 'sick care' system). I am taking responsibility for my life by taking control of my eating. No more SAD (Standard American Diet) eating for me. Losing weight is one of the benefits of eating this way ~ but more energy and vitality are what I'm craving.

I follow Chef AJ, Dr Michael Greger, Dr Neal Barnard, Dr Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr T Colin Campbell, Dr Alan Goldhamer (DC) and a few others who advocate eating plants only - no animal products. I don't want to say Vegan because there are a lot of Vegan Processed foods that are full of salt, sugar and oils and are NOT healthy. There's a huge online community... I'd love to find some local friends ♥.
