Well not quite, you still have to pay for your drinks at out refreshment stops but the journey along the way to these quaint, traditional English hostelries, is totally worth the effort in joining today’s peaceful and laidback hike.

The perfect riverside destination for peak summer and an unspoilt natural beauty in and around these two historic villages on the Oxfordshire and Berkshire border.

• Sit mat
• Outdoor wear – basic technical clothing & equipment
• AVOID - jeans
• Waterproofs (rain forecast?)
• Footwear – recommend ankle support hiking boots, not essential
• Packed Lunch (high energy snacks possibly)
• Water – 1 to 2 litres
• Vaseline (good for avoiding blisters)
