Never played badminton? You're exactly who we're looking for.
Badminton 101 is a laid-back social night for total beginners at Bellevue Badminton Club's Southcenter location in Tukwila. No experience, no partner, and no pressure needed. Just come as you are.
You'll pick up the basics, rally with other first-timers, and meet people from around South Seattle, Burien, Renton, Kent, and Des Moines. Most people show up not knowing anyone and leave with a few new friends. A lot of them are hooked by the end of the night.
When: 1st & 3rd Friday of every month, 7:30–9:00 PM

What to bring: Comfortable clothes you can move in, a water bottle, and court shoes if you have them. Don't have gear? We'll get you set up.
Who it's for: Adults who've never played or haven't picked up a racquet since playing badminton in the backyard. It's great for solo newcomers, couples, friends, and anyone looking for a fun way to stay active and meet people.

Badminton 101 is fun, welcoming and designed exclusively for beginner players who want to rally and meet other people who are also new to the sport.
### How It Works
This is not a class or coaching session. A facilitator will be there to help everyone get started by explaining basic badminton rules, etiquette, court positioning, and how games work. From there, the focus is on getting on court, hitting lots of shuttles, playing fun games, and enjoying plenty of rallies.
There's no emphasis on intense competition or winning. The goal is to create a relaxed environment where beginners can get comfortable playing badminton, have fun, and meet other players at a similar level.
### What to Expect
- Beginner-friendly, organized play and fun games
- Lots of hitting and opportunities to rally
- Basic guidance on rules and badminton etiquette
- A relaxed, social atmosphere with other new players
- One Victor Carbonsonic shuttle provided for each participant
- Rental shoes and rackets are available for an extra charge
