Come join us for an informal meet and greet and a collaborative discussion about what's on our minds and how we're going to explore our curiosities this year!

Agenda:

  • Introductions of organizers and attendees
  • Overview of Tulsa Web Devs and our big picture plans for the year
  • ⚡Question Storming⚡
  • We'll work as a group to generate a list of questions we're interested in exploring this year
  • We won't try to answer any of them in this session, just collect and refine questions.
  • We want to encourage all different types of questions:
  • "Why...?" (values, causes)
  • "What if...?" (futures, experiments)
  • "Who benefits...?" (power, incentives)
  • "How do we know...?" (data, measurement)
  • Starter questions:
  • "What does 'good' web development mean in 2026 - for users, developers, and the city we build for?"
  • "Where does web development create the most value today - and where does it accidentally create harm?"
  • It doesn't matter how new or experienced you are - we want questions from all different perspectives and from many themes - technical, ethical, interpersonal, etc.

We'll finish the evening with unstructured social time to get to know each other a little better and explore our communal curiosities.

Laptop welcome but not required for this event. We'll plan to have some pizza or other food so please RSVP if you plan on attending so we can get a head count.

Tulsa Web Devs meetups are intended to bring together technologists from across a wide range of languages and disciplines.
From back-end development in various languages to front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to web-adjacent fields like data science and civic tech—we aim to learn, share, build, and grow together.
