Join us for an insightful evening with Mike Knight, Program Manager for Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Program. Mike will share the latest updates on this vital conservation effort, including its history, key accomplishments, and future direction.
Since 1990, the EEL Program has played a crucial role in protecting Brevard’s natural habitats, ensuring they remain a sanctuary for wildlife and a resource for environmental education and recreation.
About Our Speaker – Mike Knight
Originally from Vermont, Mike attended Unity College in Maine and Lyndon State College in Vermont, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation and Environmental Education. He spent 15 years working in wilderness high-adventure programs for at-risk youth before moving to Brevard County in 1997.
Mike joined the EEL Program in 1998, managing volunteer efforts and trail development, and became Program Manager in 2004. He now oversees land acquisition, management, passive recreation, and environmental education for the program.
In his free time, Mike enjoys kayaking, with a special passion for traditional Greenland-style paddling techniques.
