Our Guest Speaker will be Zach Marchetti, the Director of Staff and Community Engagement at Brevard Zoo.

The Public is invited. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, allowing ample time for mingling before the meeting commences.

Zach has a background from Penn State University and extensive experience in conservation education and outreach, Zach has been instrumental in promoting the zoo's initiatives, including immersive experiences that highlight Florida's unique ecosystems. He frequently shares updates on major projects like the upcoming Bowen Aquarium in Port Canaveral.

At this meeting, Zach will present the latest updates on the Bowen Aquarium—a $140 million open-air conservation center and aquarium set to break ground soon. This immersive facility on 14 acres at Port Canaveral will focus on Florida's coastal ecosystems, serving as a regional hub for education, research, and restoration of the Indian River Lagoon (IRL).

He'll also cover the Zoo's related initiatives for IRL and sea turtle restoration, including exciting recent progress: In early 2026, Brevard Zoo secured $1.75 million in federal funding to build the Scaife Family Sea Turtle Care Complex—a state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot facility with advanced rehabilitation, veterinary care, exhibition space, and long-term sanctuary for sea turtles that can't be released. This builds on the Zoo's ongoing work rehabilitating cold-stunned and injured turtles from the IRL, with recent releases and efforts to restore habitats like seagrass and oyster reefs.
