There are so many challenges in step-family life. People who haven't been in this situation themselves and have never had to think about it usually do not have any practical understanding of the complexity we face daily. This group is a home base for being understood by others who actually "get it" and can offer insights without judgement. It’s a place to work through challenges and emotions without creating drag on your relationships with the kids or their biological parents.
Whether just entering a serious relationship with someone who has kids, working through the teenage years, dealing with adult step-children... no matter where you are in your journey, there’s someone here whose situation will resonate with you and with whom you can also share your experience.
Our meetups include venting and laughter as well as sharing perspectives, problem-solving, and plenty of support of one another through this journey we're all on. Let's get together and support each other and make friends along the way!
The uniquely powerful support of this group comes from the balance of meaningful In Real Life relationships, coupled with the more immediately available support online. Therefore, membership is for women in the Twin Cities (Minneaoplis/St. Paul) Metropolitan area of Minnesota. In support of the personal connections that make this work, there is an expectation to attend at least two events in-person events per year.
