What we're about

MARCH 16th UPDATE:

Due to the COVID-19 virus, we are asking everyone to suspend all meetup activities at this time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nadine Sehnert.

Thank you.

The Twin Cities Board Games group welcomes everyone! Our members play the full range of games from classic board games to party games to Eurogames. Our goal is building community through playing board games!

Many of our meetups are open to all ages and we encourage you to bring friends and family. We frequently combine an evening of board games with a potluck and often highlight new games that have been provided to us through our sponsors.

BoardGameNight! returns to Big Louie's in Crystal this Tuesday ... Join us!

Do you wish you could find people to play boardgames with, just like the old days before COVID-19? Good luck with that! But if you're willing to try using some safety precautions, wear a mask, and practice a bit of social-distancing,... there are others like you who are ready to play boardgames and socialize without taking unnecessary health risks to have fun in public together. These people want to invite YOU to join them at Big Louie's bar and grill in Crystal this Tuesday evening. Starting at 5pm, and lasting until around 10pm, the hosts will meetup with anyone who wants to get out, and safely socialize in a public place by playing boardgames. This will be just like we used to do EVERY Tuesday night for several years at Big Louie's before a pandemic shut everything down. As gameplaying enthusiasts, the hosts will bring their games to share for the night's fun. They are even willing to teach any other (or newer) players how to enjoy the boardgames that you would like to learn how to play. Nice deal! Of course, since this is at a public restaurant, we have to follow all relevant health safety regulations,... and also patronize the establishment by supporting their business. Expect to buy some food and/or beverages to enjoy while you play the boardgames. Any restaurant trying to stay open nowadays is struggling, so please be generous and give them your patronage so they can remain open for the future. Tip generously as well! Seating is available both inside and outdoors on the patio... (weather permitting!) Look for the hosts, who will have some stacks of boardgames nearby! Text Chris Hoppe at[masked] for more information. There are many people who have enjoyed this hobby in the past, and want to do so again! We used to see anywhere from 10 to 15 people on a regular basis, week after week. Hopefully we can again find lots of old and new friends to enjoy our boardgames with, despite the challenge of staying safe and healthy. Be well, and we'll hope to see you soon! Your Tuesday GameNight! boardgame meetup hosts, Chris, Judy, Mark... (and others) ;-)

Game at FFGEC-Cancelled COVID

Fantasy Flight Games Event Center

Euro/designer/hobby game night at Fantasy Flight Games Event Center. We generally have 4-6 tables going (at least) and get a wide variety of games on the table. Bring your own games, ask to borrow someone else's, or choose from a large collection of public games on their wall! If you're new to hobby games, come check out the Game Center and the group, there's always someone happy to teach the rules. Even if there are not a lot of people RSVP'd there is always 20-30 board gamers in attendance on Wednesday nights.
