Too many emails?

Deal with it.  No really, you can deal with.  I just I got a note from Meetup that someone left because they got too many emails.  Well I need to send emails to people to let them know about events I've scheduled and changes to those events.  But the good news is: you have control over what you receive!  Yes, it's true!  Yes, you can!

If you want to receive fewer emails, you can change your settings under "my profile / email and notifications". You have the option to only get only daily summary emails, or to not receive organizer broadcasts, as well as many other options.  These settings would affect all meetups.

Another option, if you just think I email too much, but your other meetups don't, is to route emails from certain meetups (like this one) to a folder.  Then you can review them at your leisure.  This is the solution I've chosen for one meetup I belong to that is particularly chatty.

Some people have their phones set to beep every time they get mail.  Again, there's a solution - multiple email accounts.  You would then shut off notifications from the account associated with Meeutp.

This is what I do: My important emails beep.  Meetup emails don't, and the really chatty group gets routed to a folder so their emails don't fill my inbasket.

Just some ideas. Although frankly I don't know why you wouldn't be sitting there with bated breath, staring at your screen, just waiting for my next pearls of wisdom and humor.
