Road-Trip to Lassen Volcanic NP and Burney Falls, w/moderate hikes

Let's escape the holiday rush and discover the Shasta Cascade region’s boiling volcanic wonderland. Indeed, Lassen Volcanic National Park bubbles, steams, and roars. But it has a tranquil side too, with crystalline lakes and rolling meadows - at Manzanita area. We do plan to hike to the Lassen Peak!

One day we will explore Burney Falls, the 129-foot waterfall, framed by lush flora, making for a mesmerizing picture.

The town where we say two nights, Red Bluff, blends Old West toughness and late-1800s gentility - restored Victorians line the streets west of Main Street.

Trip's Summary:

• 4days/3nights trip for a small group of 6 explorers,
• The starting and ending points are locations at the South Bay (we can choose some 2 pick-up locations, one can be San Jose Diridon Station),
• Hotel accommodations in Red Bluff, CA and Burney, CA. All locations in this event follow safety requirements by the state,
• Level of activities: Easy to Intermediate.

Clothes and gear recommended:

• good hiking shoes,
• warm jacket for evenings, be ready to layer up,
• hiking poles if you used to them,
• consider hydration bladder for hikes,
• sunglasses,
• sunscreen,
• hat.

Tentative cost $420. What will be included:

• 4days/3nights stay in 2-people occupancy non-smoking room (two beds in room),
• Transportation by SUV (like Chrysler Traverse or similar) covering approx. 800 mi of road-tripping total,
• Park entrance fee,
• Organized hikes in all days.

What is NOT included:

• Meals, snacks, water (we will drive for grocery shopping.)
• any individually charged fees (per vehicle fees are included.)

Sunrise: 7:20am. Sunset: 6:45pm. We will need to start off from hotel at 7-7:30am (to use more of daylight for activities.)
