MySQL Night @ Uber

MySQL is foundational to Uber Engineering’s tech stack, supporting our Schemaless (https://eng.uber.com/schemaless-part-one/) datastore and other back-end services. Join us at Uber’s Palo Alto office for an evening of tech talks and networking with Shriniket Kale (Uber), Vadim Tkachenko (Percona (https://www.percona.com/)), and Marek Vavruša (Cloudflare (https://www.cloudflare.com/lp/ddos-a/?_bt=157293179478&_bk=cloudflare&_bm=e&_bn=g&gclid=CIWH8rPm69YCFQ2ffgodhPQCEw)) to learn how Uber and other companies leverage MySQL to power their storage solutions.

During these presentations, we will also shed light on other MySQL solutions, including ClickHouse, an open source, real-time analytical database system.ClickHouse works in conjunction with MySQL -- traditionally weak for analytical workloads -- and we will demonstrate how to make the two systems work together.

Speaker Details:

Shriniket Kale is a Software Engineer at Uber on the Storage Platform team. His work is focused on development of Schemaless which is Uber's primary datastore. Shriniket loves architecting and developing highly scalable, available distributed systems/databases and working on classical distributed data management challenges.

Vadim Tkachenko is the CTO of Percona and Principal Advisor at Altinity. Vadim leads Percona’s Engineering Team, which focuses on the development of Percona software products, technology research, and performance evaluations of Percona solutions and third-party products.

Marek Vavruša is a software engineer at Cloudflare, working mostly on DNS-related projects. Prior to joining Cloudflare, he worked on several open source projects, such as BPF tools and Knot DNS, both authoritative and recursive.
