About us
Thank you for joining Ultimate Tango Community!
You are about to immerse yourself into a world full of adventure, passion, learning, and friendships.
Learning Argentine Tango can change your life in numerous ways. We know it because we teach it for like - forever. Special people start learning the Tango and this is not without reason. We have a saying - you do not choose Tango. Tango chooses you. And when the time is right - you will encounter it.
We are not gonna lie to you. It will not be easy. But it is the best thing you will ever do for Your Partner and Yourself! Argentine Tango is not just a dance.
Hernan and I think of an Argentine Tango as a Philosophy of Life. People who join us on the journey to discovery usually stay for years. I would say forever, but that's a tricky word since I had not experienced foreverness quite yet... It would indicate immortality, right?
Tango is a dance based on communication between two bodies - the dance is improvised. That means the Leader proposes the movement to the Follower in response to what she confirms the understanding of it and interprets it in the way she and her body understood the proposal. All this happens non-verbally - that's why the dance is extremely difficult but developed undescribable understanding between the couple.
We teach for years and see it happening over and over again. It does not happen in one lesson though. So if you expect that
- you are simply deceiving yourself. Tango is a path. We invite you to step on it and start your journey.

Where Molinete Meets the Turn: Trajectory, Timing & Torsion
Ultimate Tango School of Dance, 349 Washington St, Malden, MA, USIn this Intermediate series, we take the molinete to its natural next step - the giro. But not just any giro. This is where we dive deep into trajectory, timing dilemmas, and the invisible torsions that hold it all together (or let it all fall apart).
Ever wondered if the double time is led - or just expected? How to slow it down without killing the flow? How to sustain circularity once it starts?
This series unpacks all of that - and adds something often overlooked: molinete is not just for Followers. Leaders will learn how to exchange, mirror, and even simultaneously dance molinetes - for richer, more responsive improvisation.
---What you’ll learn:
-
The trajectory of molinete in giro - how to shape the turn
-
The double-time dilemma - should you lead it, allow it, or slow it down?
-
Creating and sustaining circular energy
-
Invisible torsions - how they build, release, and redirect motion
-
Molinete exchange - Leaders can molinete too
-
Simultaneous molinetes - when both roles rotate
-
Making molinete a shared conversation, not a one-sided command
---
This is the series where your turns become lighter, cleaner, and more musical.Where leading and following feel like two halves of the same spiral.
Where structure becomes freedom.
