Being a teacher today means far more than delivering knowledge. It means meeting young people who bring to school their fears, anger, insecurity, withdrawal, or apparent indifference. But what truly lies behind these behaviors? How can we understand them and respond effectively without feeling powerless or frustrated?
In this event designed for teachers and education professionals, we’ll explore how Schema Therapy provides a deep and practical framework for understanding students’ emotional and relational struggles. From this perspective, every difficult behavior becomes a message—an imperfect but genuine attempt to express unmet needs or unresolved emotional wounds.
During the session, we will discuss:

  • What Early Maladaptive Schemas are and how they develop in childhood and adolescence
  • How to recognize the emotional needs hidden beneath problematic behavior
  • The main coping styles students use to protect themselves and how these appear in the classroom
  • How to maintain a secure educational relationship even in moments of conflict
  • Practical strategies to respond to students’ emotions while preserving authority and calm

The goal is to offer teachers not only a deeper psychological understanding but also practical tools to create a more empathic, supportive, and effective classroom climate.
The event is divided into two parts:

  • In the first part, the lecturer presents the main concepts and insights. This portion is recorded, allowing those who cannot attend live to watch later, while fully protecting the privacy of participants.
  • In the second part, which is not recorded, the space opens for sharing, questions, and discussion. Participants can bring real classroom experiences, explore challenges together, and receive guidance and support in a safe, collaborative atmosphere.

An event for those who believe that every student, beneath their defenses, is simply looking for a safe way to be seen, heard, and understood.
