Movie Discussion Series: My Favorite Year (1982)
Details
"Live television is the most terrifying thing in the world... except for everything else." 📺✨
Our Spring Movie Discussion Series continues on Wednesday, April 15th with the 1982 comedy classic: "My Favorite Year."
Inspired by Mel Brooks’ real-life experiences writing for the legendary Sid Caesar, this film is a hilarious and heartfelt look at the "Golden Age" of television.
The story follows Benji, a young writer tasked with the impossible: keeping an aging, hard-drinking movie star (the incomparable Peter O’Toole) sober and ready for his live TV guest appearance. When the star faces a massive case of stage fright right before the cameras roll, will the show actually go on? ðŸŽ
It was an enormous hit when it premiered, and it remains one of the best comedies about the beautiful chaos of the entertainment world.
- When: Wednesday, April 15th
- Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Discussion follows the film)
