What we’re about
Unplugged 2025 - All you need to know on classical music in Cape Town (with links to all the jazz as well!)
Unplugged aims to promote and support the vast range of unplugged / acoustic- mainly classical - music being performed live around Cape Town by professional musicians. From solo concerts to full orchestra, from traditional concert halls to art galleries, from Baroque to Chamber Jams, there is something for everyone right on our doorstep. If you are keen to explore and feel the passion of live performance this is a group for you.
For 2025 my main aim is to keep you informed of what is happening around Cape Town. I may not be able to organise Meet & Greets but hope that you are inspired to check out live music in and around the Cape once more whether alone or in groups and I am here to advise and help with what may interest you.
I manage the Cape Town Concert Series and am artist Liaison for La Motte in Franschhoek, I also compile the daily calendar for Fine Music Radio, present Matinee and try to keep my finger on the post of all things classical, some jazz and occasional acoustic when I can!
Check our discussion board for updates and if you are going to any of these events independently, let me know and maybe we can meetup 'impromptu', and if you are running a Meetup event group and please feel free to feature one of these events with your group.
If you want to join the Unplugged Newsletter directly then just email me at info@ctconcerts.co.za or join the newsletter through the website www.ctconcerts.co.za

See all- CTCS Presents Violin & Piano with Baranov and GugninBaxter Theatre Centre, Cape Town
On Saturday 21st June, The Cape Town Concert Series celebrates it’s 70th year of music making with a special concert featuring two of Europes most exciting performers.
Violinist Andrey Baranov and pianist Andrey Gugnin are both established solo musicians in their own right but form a formidable duo – and we are lucky that they are both performing in South Africa on concerto tours at the same time.
They will play an exhilerating programme of works by Szymanowski, Shostakovich and Strauss at 11am in the Baxter Concert Hall, Rondebosch.
Tickets available from Webtickets and more information at the CT Concerts website: www.ctconcerts.co.za
These morning concerts are the perfect start to the weekend running from 11am to around 12.30. As I organise these concerts I am not able to arrange a formal Meetup but please feel free to organise one or come on your own- concerts are the best for being part of a common crowd without any pressure. And please come and say hello - I will be at a table in the foyer where you can collect your complimentary programme.
If you have any queries about this or any concert I am on whatsapp 084 682 1337
