The Power of Self-Talk: Walk & Talk

Details
In 2025, our theme is Bloom Where You Are Planted: Thriving in Your Current Circumstance! This means finding happiness and growth in your current situation, even if it's difficult. It's about making the best of where you are right now.
This year, we'll focus on embracing where you are in life and recognizing that the present moment holds the potential for growth and transformation.
We’ll explore how to:
- Shift Your Mindset: View challenges as opportunities, knowing you have the resilience to thrive.
- Activate Your Strengths: Realize that you have all the tools you need to succeed, right where you are.
- Uncover Deeper Meaning: Discover lessons and meaning that aid growth, even in tough times.
The Topic for April is: The Power of Self-Talk
"The most important conversations you'll ever have are the ones you'll have with yourself." - David Goggins
Ever caught yourself in a mental loop of negativity?
Our inner voice, known as self-talk, is the silent dialogue that constantly shapes our thoughts, emotions, and actions. It can be empowering, lifting us towards our goals, or limiting, holding us back from our potential.
By becoming aware of this internal chatter, we gain the power to shift it towards a more positive and supportive narrative, ultimately fostering greater resilience and unwavering confidence.
As we walk & talk, let’s explore how our inner voice impacts us and how we can reframe it for growth:
- Share about a current challenge you’re facing where you notice negative self-talk creeping in. How does this negative self-talk impact your emotions and your actions in those moments?
- Share about a current challenge you’re facing where you're actively using positive self-talk. How does this positive self-talk impact your emotions and your actions in those moments?
- Practice 3 steps to reframe negative self-talk
"Your inner dialogue is your constant companion. Make sure it's a helpful and supportive one." - Unknown
Here’s the plan for our walk & talk:
- Meet by the adult swings in Campbell Park (info on parking in Campbell)
- Walk & Talk along the Los Gatos Creek Trail (about 2 miles)
- Participate in Sharing Circles
- Take a group photo
After the walk & talk, I'm walking to Orchard Valley Coffee in downtown Campbell - I'd love for you to join me!
Look forward to seeing you there!
Joyfully,
Shannon
