Cataloochee car camping
Details
Headed to Cataloochee campground in the Smokies. I have reserved site 18. this campground does have flush toilets and water but no electric or showers. IT IS BEAR AND ELK HABITAT, so all food and smelly things need to be secured in the vehicles at all times unless using them.
please bring firewood for a group campfire.
we will be doing short walks and if anyone wants to lead a longer hike, please feel free to lead. There is also the possibility of tail gating at the meadow to watch the elk around 5 PM. YOU MUST BRING YOUR GEAR AND FOOD for the entire trip as there is nothing around this campground except woods, creek, turkey, elk, bear, deer, fish, birds, fellow campers.
you must have a parking sticker on your car if your car leaves the campsite and parks somewhere. the passes can be bought at the metal ranger at the overlook on the way in.
you must make your own reservation.
