Pack some hearty snacks, bring your drinking water, work gloves, a mask and goggles, and join UCS and Spokes of Hope, as we partner together to rebuild the Village of Chimney Rock.

It is dusty there because of the recently floodwater-shaved mountainside that now borders the river, so you will want to wear protection for face and eyes while winds blow through the valley. So, we will meet at 8:00 am (or drive up when you can!) to caravan/carpool 55 minutes away via peaceful, mountain lane at

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. As you begin to approach the restaurant, you will see a sign that reads, “Road Closed - Local Traffic Only”.
2. Tell the entry-point security officers that you are volunteering with Spokes of Hope, and they will permit you to pass.
3. Drive through the village to its end, & park up on the right-hand hillside parking lot.
4. Walk back down to enter the Chimney Rock Smokehouse.
5. You will then be asked to register & fill out a liability form with Spokes of Hope.
6. Describe to the registrar the types of work you can do, and they will strategically place you onto a project. Each of us may be assigned to work in different parts of the town, but we will get to see each other at lunch before returning to our work sites for the remainder of the afternoon.
7. We will be shuttled to our work sites via ATV's.
Lunch will be provided, but feel free to bring along more food of your own in order to supplement, or to keep as your “in-between-meal” snacks.

Bring: snacks, your own drinking water, work gloves, a mask and goggles, head gear, sturdy shoes for muddy construction, lip & sun protection & any other tools you may find useful. There will also be tools available on-site.

Each of us will work cheerfully, wherever and however we can!
After our jobs are completed at approximately 5:00 pm, we will drive back down for a 6:00 pm dinner reservation in Inman, SC at
