It’s the holiday season so let’s enjoy one of the most beautiful creative cities in the world, A Late afternoon/early evening Christmas hike in the city. We will enjoy "Let’s Glow SF" - outdoor holiday artists light arts festival works projected across some of downtown’s most notable buildings 6 Locations: Salesforce Tower & Transamerican Building atop the building (can be seen from a distance). walk through the Fairmont Gingerbread House, Westin Saint Francis: Chef Jean-Francois Houdré colossal Sugar Castles, the Union Square Christmas tree. Remember dress in layers this is a Holiday Spirit and cold SF evenings. I'm giving 2 meeting points, I plan on parking and enjoying a festive Cable Car Ride up to the Fairmont Hotel and then walking back to Aquatic park

Meeting Points: 2 meeting points; 2:30pm Cable Car Roundabout Aquatic Park ($8 each direction), or Meet just inside the front entrance Fairmont Hotel approximately 3:45-4:00pm, (Near the front doors, I'm wearing red pullover and dark blue peacoat)

Total Distance: 6+ miles
Hiking Time: 3-5 hours, depends on stops along the way
Elevation: 100+ feet
Parking: 4 hour parking Around Aquatic Park
Information: suggest park near Ghirardelli Square / Aquatic Park Start & finish, Meet at Cable Car. Dogs on leash (not on cable car), Dress casually nice with comfortable walking shoes, No backpack for me… "Let’s Glow SF" starts at 5:30pm and repeats every 10 minutes

Hiking Route: Meet Cable Car, Hyde & Beach Street, take Cable Car up Hyde & Powell, get off at California Street, Walk uphill to the Fairmont Hotel: one of SF's grandest hotels, Christmas displays with a completely edible two-story Gingerbread House, then downhill California street, Right Powell, (Optional) Westin Saint Francis: Chef Jean-Francois Houdré colossal Sugar Castles, then enter Union Square: Christmas tree with over 33,000 lights and 1,100 ornaments, then Maiden Lane to continue walking to Let’s Glow SF (5:30-10pm) largest holiday projection mapping event in the U.S., stunning journey of light will feature the works of local and international artists while celebrating the festive winter season (7 minute shows on each building, repeated every 5 minutes) down Geary Street into Anne Alley, Right on Grant Ave, Right on Market Street, View Yerba Buena Lane, continue on Market street View Hobart Building, Also can see Sale Force Building and Transamerica Building from the Distance, Continue on Market Street View Mechanic Monument Plaza, Continue on Market Left Davis Street, View 101 California Street, Left California Street, Left Sansome street, Left Pine Street, (Final stop) View The Pacific Stock Exchange, End at this point, some may want to walk back to Aquatic Park (I walk back and pick up my favorite slice of Golden Boy Pizza), some Cable car or Uber, or Bart and some may venture back to a Bar or restaurant we saw along the way… your choice ......
