What we’re about

Urban Compassion Project is committed to the heath, welfare, and empowerment of the unhoused.

In collaboration with our unhoused neighbors and community volunteers, we conduct weekly cleanups throughout Oakland, removing on average 1.2 tons of trash and debris from our streets, parks and waterways. This debris poses public health, safety and environmental hazards. With every cleanup, we provide the unhoused with the tools necessary to sustain cleaner and safer areas themselves.

All are welcome. Please wear a mask, closed-toe shoes, and gloves. All cleaning supplies are provided, and donations are always welcome.
