Urban Hike: Forest Knolls to Golden Gate Park Dahlias and Dragon

Details

We will walk from Forest Hill Station to the Midtown Terrace playground, then into Forest Knolls, White Crane Springs garden, then into Golden Park to see the Dahlis in bloom and the new Dragon. We will include some stairs, paths, alleys, and gardens. There will be some hills and stairs.

There is no restroom at Forest Hill Station. However, Midtown Terrace playground should have one.

Here is some info about the dragon. https://www.axios.com/local/san-francisco/2025/07/29/sf-golden-gate-park-largest-public-art-naga-serpent. We will go another day to see it in the dark.

We meet at 1:30, but leave at 1:400 (grace period). After the walk, we will have the gathering at the Golden Gate park bandshell for the Reggae music. We will stop at a store for provisions. Bring a cup or prepare to purchase one.

Hope to see you there!!

Please note: Phone help is not available for latecomers. If you are late it is very hard to catch up with us. We walk at a medium pace. Escorts or sweeps are not provided, so slower walkers should be completely prepared to finish the hike on their own if they become separated from the group, and they may want to consider bringing a friend to walk with them. I reserve the right to make small changes to the route as needed.
